A formal ceremony was held on Friday at the "Zaim Imamovic" barracks in Pazaric, organized by the Training and Doctrine Command's Basic Training Center, marking the completion of the "Basic Military Training for the 32nd Class" and the induction of new members into professional military service in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH).

Major General Mirsad Ahmic, Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the AFBiH for Resources, announced that 257 candidates officially joined the military service after taking the oath.

“This is the 32nd ceremony hosted by the Basic Training Center, a crucial step for young individuals joining the AFBiH. Once again, they have demonstrated dedication and readiness to prepare a new generation of soldiers for the tasks ahead. To be a soldier is an honor and a source of pride,” stated Ahmic.

Among the inductees, 49 women joined the ranks, reflecting Bosnia and Herzegovina's commitment to the United Nations Security Council Resolution on “Women, Peace, and Security.”

General Ahmic also shared that the AFBiH plans to recruit a total of 1,046 new soldiers by the end of the year, fulfilling its obligations for 2024 in operational readiness and human resource management. Looking ahead to 2025, the Armed Forces aim to train and equip approximately 1,250 new recruits.

He further noted that recent efforts to promote military careers have yielded positive results, with a strong response from young people eager to join the ranks of the AFBiH over the past two years.
