Speaking at the Euro-Asian Economic Summit in Istanbul, Bosnia and Herzegovina's Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Minister Mirko Sarovic said that Bosnia needs a strategy that would prevent its youth from leaving the country.

“Focusing on its youth's problems, Bosnian institutions at all levels should begin making a comprehensive strategy of how to prevent Bosnian youth from leaving the country. This should be done by creating opportuinities for their employment,” Sarovic said. “This implies an increase in economic activity and creation of new jobs which cannot be expected without attracting new and significant investments to Bosnia”.  

Sarovic said that 22 years after the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement which ended the war in Bosnia, the country still faces economic, social and political challenges which are largely related to inability of the state to find common ground for the political and economic development of the country.

The two-day summit of current and former state officials of governments of Turkey, EU member states, states of the Western Balkans, Middle East, Caucasus, Central Asia, Far East as well as leading entrepreneuts from these areas, is dedicated to some of the biggest modern challanges.

The summit is also attended by a member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency Mladen Ivanic and the Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim.
