Ramiz Colic from the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina told N1 that the Islamic Community thinks the agreement between the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Islamic Community in Bosnia should have been a routine agreement. Bosnia's tripartite Presidency rejected the agreement from being included in yesterday's Presidency session.
Colic, who is Head of the Foreign and Diaspora Affairs at the Islamic Community in Bosnia said that the agreement has fulfilled all the legal requirements.
“We are saddened by the fact that the agreement was excluded from the agenda. We believe it is an important issue that requires a serious approach. We formed a commission and the state formed a commission and they worked very hard on this agreement,” Colic said. “Every article of this agreement has passed all the checks in Republika Srpska (RS) entity, and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity. In the end, it was harmonized and adopted by the Council of Ministers and submitted to Bosnia's Presidency.”
Colic said there are political, legal and security reasons why this agreement should be signed. The Islamic Community fears that someone wants to make this issue into a political issue.
“We will continue to do our part of the job. We are also receiving reactions from the faithful, asking how can members of other religions and peoples interfere with the issues of the Islamic Community in Bosnia?’ We must exclude any political influence from this process because this is a legal issue and it should be treated as such,” Colic concluded.
