Bosnia remains committed to the fight against terrorism and will continue contributing to the strengthening of security and the joint fight against global threats, said Bosnian Security Minister Dragan Mektic on Wednesday at an international conference on global security, taking place in Sochi, Russia.
Mektic emphasized that Bosnia experienced no terrorism-related incident over the past three years, owing to measures the country took, adding that Bosnia was recognized as a regional leader in prevention and deradicalisation, the Ministry of Security stated.
The goal of the conference, which was opened by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, is to develop the international cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations in this sector.
Minister Mektic was invited to the conference by Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev, and will hold several meetings with other senior officials of Russia and other participating countries during his stay in Russia, the ministry said.
