One of the three Bosnia's national parks, the National Park Sutjeska, will be included in the tourist programme of Montenegrin travel agencies, said owner of 'Trend travel' agency Olivera Krivokapic, who visited the site this weekend along with a group of journalists and tourism sector workers.
The national park, easily accessible from the Montenegrin coastal town Herceg Novi, will definitely attract the attention of visitors from that country, they say.
Rainforest Perucica, one of the last remaining of the kind in Europe, the 70-metres high Skakavac waterfall, stunning views of the Maglic Mountain, with the highest peak in the country, etc. are only some of the magnificent sights the visitors will have a chance to enjoy.
“We will include excursions and visits to the National Park Sutjeska in our programme, because it is very close, two-hour ride away from Herceg Novi, and nature is untouched. I know the people will like this. I am surprised by this nature, this beauty, it is all fascinating,” said Krivokapic.
Besides the planned visits from Montenegro, the area already attracts tourists from other parts of the world. They come to hike the Maglic Mountain, stroll the Perucica rainforest, see historic site of the Battle of Sutjeska, attend the music festival ‘OK Fest’ etc.
“We use the Perucica (rainforest) only for promotion and presentation, and, of course, for the scientific-research work. More and more of researchers from the Western Europe and America are coming here over the last years,” said the assistant for cultural-historic affairs at the National Park Sutjeska Djordje Vukovic.
According to Head of the Sector for Development of the Park Mirjana Radovic, tourists also prefer seeing the Trnovacko Lake, a heart-shaped lake on Bosnia-Montenegro border.
