Slobodan Vaskovic, a journalist and one of the most popular bloggers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, spoke to N1 about the Republika Srpska entity President Milorad Dodik, Bosnia’s Prosecution and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Russian influence in Bosnia.
Speaking about the Republika Srpska (RS) entity and its President Milorad Dodik, Vaskovic said that Dodik allegedly has a ‘blacklist’. When asked who is on it, Vaskovic said that the list allegedly contains the names of all those who are fighting for their independence and freedom.
Vaskovic was asked to comment on several cases for which there are allegations that Dodik might be involved in them, to which he said that Bosnia’s Security Minister Dragan Mektic has no jurisdiction over the Prosecutor's Office and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“The absolute rulers are Dodik, and Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency members Dragan Covic and Bakir Izetbegovic, not necessarily in this order,” Vaskovic concluded. Allegedly, they rule the Court and the Prosecutor's Office.
Commenting on Dodik’s intention to be a member of Bosnia’s Presidency, Vaskovic said that, allegedly, his ultimate aim is to disintegrate Bosnia.
“Dodik has set the disintegration of Bosnia as his ultimate aim. He cannot go back, now,” Vaskovic said.
He also claims that certain criminal groups have become financially stronger and are now using Dodik for personal gain.
Speaking about the Russian influence in Bosnia, Vaskovic said that Russia has its own interests which do not necessarily correspond to the interest of the peoples in Bosnia.
“Regarding the entire region, their goal is to maintain their influence, here. They don’t want to allow the Americans to master this area. The Russians will lose this battle because they don’t have enough resources. The Americans never left this area. The question is why doesn’t the European Union react,” Vaskovic said. “We have a situation where the Americans have won two duels. The one in Macedonia and the other in Montenegro. I think we should be NATO members. Montenegro is a multi-ethnic state inhabited by Montenegrins, Bosniaks and Albanians. She entered the NATO and there are no tensions in Montenegro. They had the election and there wasn’t an incident. Bosnia, on the other hand, has peace, but we must have stability.”
