Motivating young people to stay in their country and achieving success there, was topic of the Third Youth Speak Forum dubbed “Success in Bosnia – Mission (im)possible” held in Sarajevo on Saturday.

A Harvard graduate Elma Feric-Bojic shared her story and experience with youth to, as the organizers said, encourage them not to give up on their wishes.

Feric-Bojic left Bosnia as a refugee, and after a period she spent in Germany, she found the final shelter in the US. She graduated from the prestigious Harvard University and 20 years later decided to return to her hometown, Sarajevo.

“I simply wanted to get to know Bosnia now, while I still have a chance, to see how is life here, what’s the education and work like here, and how our people live. I learned about life in America and Germany, and what was missing was completing this part of the story of mine – as a Bosnia born,” said Feric-Bojic.

According to her, achieving the success does not depend on where you are but on how truly the success is desired.

The high unemployment rate is among the major reasons why citizens are leaving the country in search of jobs in one of the western European countries.

According to the most recent Trading Economics report, Bosnia is a leader in Europe, topping the list of countries with its 38.68 percent unemployment rate.
