Kosovo’s President and the Eulex mission in Pristina chief have finalised a letter marking the end of the European legal body’s mandate planned for June 14, a statement said.
Hashim Thaci and Alexandra Papadopulo agreed on the text of the letter that Kosovo President and the European Union’s Foreign and Security Policy chief Frederica Mogherini would exchange to end the current Eulex task, the statement from Thaci’s office said.
The Kosovo Parliament should ratify the exchange of the letters.
The Eulex started its mission soon after Pristina declared independence from Belgrade in 2008, with executive powers but gradually transferred them to Kosovo institutions.
Some mission’s staff may stay in Kosovo as advisors, reports say.
