Serbian President's statement about the Army of Serbia becoming the strongest army in the region makes us ask how strong and equipped are the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said presidential candidate and senior member of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SDP BiH) Denis Becirovic.

Becirovic said the statement by President Aleksandar Vucic was “a warning for all countries in the region, including the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

“Instead of dedication to building the permanent peace, to economic development, construction of schools, hospitals, kindergartens…, Vucic and his associates again dream of huge armies. The arms race is not a path to the more safe future of the region,” underlined Becirovic.

During the visit to a Belgrade military school on Sunday, Serbian President said the investments in the Army of Serbia have increased and he announced this would become the strongest army in the region as of the next year.
