After he found a home in Scotland, Bosnian-born dog, Drogo, ran away and got lost somewhere on the Scottish island of Arran eight months ago. His foster family is trying to catch him but every time a human approaches him, he runs in the other direction.
The story of Drogo warmed the hearts of many.
He was adopted from the streets of Sarajevo by Scottish woman Emma Campbell, who first saw him on social media when a friend shared a picture of him from a Sarajevo dog asylum.
Drogo immediately became a local star in his new community, although he at first seemed frightened. After four weeks, Campbell took him for a walk to the Scottish island of Arran but Drogo jumped out of the car and ran away.
Campbell tried all she could to find him, including adopting Drogo's sister Goldie, in hope she could draw him back home.
But Drogo is still on the run, although now the Cambells have now located him.
“We have found him in an area, but it's 5,500 acres and the problem now is catching him!” Campbell said. “We are hopeful we will catch him soon, as he won't come too near people and as soon as he sees someone, he runs in the opposite direction.”
“Believe me, there will be a big party if we do catch him! But he's also not looking too good, he looks as if he is carrying an injury, which doesn’t seem to be slowing him down,” Campbell said, adding that she is not sure what Drogo is feeding on.
“It was a harsh winter and a lot of animals have died, so it's possible he's feeding on them or catching his own voles or rabbits?,” she speculated.
