Associations of Bosnia’s employers have asked politicians to refrain from using the achievements of companies for political promotion in their election campaign.
A joint open letter from Bosnia’s Foreign Trade Chamber, the Chamber of Economy of one of the country’s two semi-autonomous regions, the Federation (FBiH), and its Association of Employers, also said that politicians should also stop discrediting successful businessmen and companies in their efforts to attract voters.
“The primary interest of the employers’ community is the creation of a better social-economic atmosphere and conditions for development and the expansion of business, the creation of new jobs and the suppression of the gray economy,” the letter said.
“Within this segment, the employers’ community needs support from elected government representatives and from the opposition in executive and legislative bodies, which has mostly been lacking until now,” it said.
The three organisations asked politicians in FBiH to, instead of mentioning companies’ successes or discrediting them for pre-election purposes, spend the time until the upcoming October general election to adopt laws that would make it easier for companies to operate on FBiH territory.
