Una-Sana Canton Prime Minister Husein Rosic called on Bosnia’s Security Minister Dragan Mektic to stop suggesting the opening of migrant centres only in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity but to open a centre in Prnjavor (the Republika Srpska entity).
“We only ask the state institutions to do their job. Mektic is not an FBiH minister, but a state minister. I don’t understand why he insists on the opening of migrant centres on the territory of the FBiH. Why doesn’t he open a centre in Prnjavor (northern Bosnia), RS,” Resic asked. “I am ready to fund busses from our cantonal budget to take the migrants from Bihac to Prnjavor. If Mektic doesn't want to solve the migrant issue in the Una-Sana Canton, maybe he would solve it when they come to his backyard.”
Resic adds he was in Sarajevo last week to discuss this issue, but he is still waiting for any results. According to Resic, the general election will be held in 3 months and a new Security Minister will be elected. Maybe the new Minister will have more will to do his job, instead of entertaining the masses in press conferences.
