After the recent statements by US President Donald Trump at TV Fox, that Montenegro could start a WWIII if they become aggressive, now that they have become a NATO member state, the Government of Montenegro said the size of the country does not matter, but what matters is its contribution to democracy, peace and stability in the world.
Taking into account the interest of numerous domestic and foreign media in the statements by US President Donald Trump, the Montenegrin Government held its 86th Cabinet session and concluded that Montenegro is proud of its history and tradition and peaceful politics that led to the position of a stabilising state in the region and the only state in which the war did not rage during disintegration of the former Yugoslavia.
“(Montenegro is a) country that has hosted and protected 120,000 affected people and families, a country that was the first in Europe to resist Fascism, and today as a new NATO member and a candidate for the EU membership it contributes to peace and stability not only on the European continent but worldwide, along with US soldiers in Afghanistan,” Montenegrin Government said. “We build friendships, and we have not lost a single one, and at the same time we are able to boldly and defensively protect and defend our own national interests.”
The Government statement further said that in today's world, it does not matter how big or small a country is, but to what extent they cherish the values of freedom, solidarity and democracy.
“Therefore, the friendship and the alliance of Montenegro and the United States of America is strong and permanent,” Montenegrin Government concluded.
