Teaching assistant: Citizens don't trust institutions

Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina are alienated from the institutions that should be theirs, said teaching assistant at the Sarajevo Faculty of Political Sciences Jasmin Hasanovic, emphasizing that there is a general mistrust of citizens towards the institutions.

Speaking for N1, Hasanovic said the citizens lack awareness of having to change something and that certain political parties and media are responsible for that, trying to show that some things are not possible here.

“There are ways to act, indeed, but it is necessary to say that those ways are only temporary, they temporarily halt an ongoing action or activity. There is a lack of vision,” he stressed.

According to Hasanovic, solidarity among citizens does exist and it is mostly seen in tragic events.

“It is obvious that situation among people, which doesn’t correspond to the stances of their representatives, is being covered. That’s a very important thing to show, that as much as we are trying to create differences, we are actually legitimizing those who create them,” he concluded.
