Head of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Islamic Community Husein Kavazovic was the keynote speaker at the second day of a conference to advance the religious freedom, held in Washington this week under auspices of the US State Department.

Kavazovic said during the speech that Bosnia and Herzegovina has moved from the phase of denial of genocide and mass crimes to the phase of their glorifying, adding that such savaging of victims was not recorded in any such conflict.

On the sidelines of the conference, Kavazovic met with a number of religious and political officials, including Rabbi Arthur Schneier. They agreed that Bosnian Muslims and the Jews in the USA should raise their cooperation to a higher level. Kavazovic informed the rabbi about the attempts to relativise the Srebrenica genocide, stressing it is necessary to continue fighting together in order to preserve the truth about the victims of the Holocaust, genocide and other mass crimes.

Kavazovic also used the opportunity to talk to numerous officials and diplomats such as US Deputy Secretary of State John J. Sullivan, Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli, and others.

The Bosnia Islamic Community's delegation led by Kavazovic is taking part in the conference at the invitation of US State Secretary Mike Pompeo.
