Aleksandar Vucic, Serbia’s President, called a meeting of the National Security Council for Saturday because “of the situation in Kosovo,” the state RTS television reported on Friday.

The RTS said that the issues of the protection of the Serb people and interests in Kosovo and the current security situation would top the meeting.

The call came after several statements by Albanian official ahead of a final stage in the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue.

Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci was quoted as saying that the partition had no chance, but that southern Serbia's Presevo valley, mostly populated by ethnic Albanians, could join Kosovo since their leaders said they wanted to.

Besides, an Albanian politician on a visit to Kosovo said that as of January 1, 2019, “the border between the two countries” would cease to exist, adding the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama had already decided on that.
