Croatia has to strongly support the Croats of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to make it a modern European country, a member of the European Union and the NATO, where Croats will be fully equal people and be represented by legitimate representatives, Croat member of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency Dragan Covic said on Saturday.
Covic attended the central event marking Croatia’s Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day, Croatian War Veterans Day and the 23rd anniversary of Operation Storm in the Croatian town of Knin.
“We are the smallest in number but we are the holders of all positive values in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I expect this strong unity here to be a clear message for the election taking place in the tenth month,” Covic said.
Asked if the upcoming election guarantees legitimate representation, Covic said that the election legislation, unfortunately, has not been amended therefore it is not a guarantee.
“But such unity does guarantee it. This is a message to all those who might want to arrange Bosnia and Herzegovina in a different way when it comes to the status of the Croats,” said the Croat leader.
