The number of visits to the country in the first six months of 2018 increased by 13.8 percent compared to the same period last year, while the number of overnight stays was by 15.3 percent higher than in the same period 2017, the Statistics Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina said.
In terms of structure of the foreign tourists’ overnight stays, Croatia leads the way with 15.9 percent, and is followed by Serbia (10.5 percent), Turkey (7.5 percent), Slovenia (6.1 percent), Germany (4.8 percent), Poland (3.5 percent), as well as 2.8 percent of tourists from China, the USA and the UAE each.
According to the Statistics Agency, The tourists from Kuwait stay for the longest periods of time in the country – 3.5 nights, then Turkey and Ireland with 3.4 nights each, and the UAE and the Netherlands with 2.9 nights each.
The number of domestic tourists increased by 15.4 percent, while the number of foreign tourists is higher by 15.2 percent, the Statistics Agency said.
In the overall number of the overnight stays, the participation of domestic tourists was 31.5 percent and foreign tourists participated with 68.5 percent.
