The Inspection Affairs Administration of the Federation (FBiH) entity banned the import of a China made toy, due to the dramatic quantity of phthalate it contained.
The FBiH sanitary inspector conducted a control on July 7 at the Mostar-Rodoc customs office, ordering a detailed check of a sample of ‘Angena May Girl’ toy.
The control results showed a significantly high quantity of phthalate, which did not respond to the valid regulations, so the toys’ import was banned, the Inspection Affairs Administration said.
Phthalates are substances added to plastic, mostly known as softeners and plasticisers, and are used in allowed quantities for the manufacturing of the children’s toys.
