The exact cause of the train accident which took place Wednesday night is still unknown and according to the on-duty Prosecutor, Sanja Surkovic, the crash scene investigation is over and the causes for the accident will be known after they receive the expert opinion.
“The crash scene investigation is over and other investigative activities are pending the cause of the accident. The cause will be known after we receive the expert opinion,” Surkovic told N1.
Two persons died in a train accident that took place near the southern town of Jablanica late Wednesday night, the local police confirmed to N1.
The head-on collision took place in an open part of the tracks, leaving little room for speculation that dilapidated infrastructure could be the cause of this accident.
Traffic expert Seval Kovacevic said that the primary cause of the accident could most likely be the human factor, but added that the other possible cause could be the lack of or failure of the telecommunication-relay equipment or devices, but all this is yet to be determined by the investigation.
