A 16-year-old Croatian kick-boxer had died during the traditional Posavina Open Odzak 2018 kick-boxing tournament after taking a blow to the groin.

“During the match, he received a blow beneath the ribs after which he fell to the ground, but stood up soon and continued to fight. After the match he went towards the locker room and fainted in the hallway,” the witnesses told Sbplus.hr. “The MD started immediately with heart compression before taking him to Odzak health care facility where he was given an Adrenalin shot.”

Witnesses also said the young kick-boxer was still alive when he was transported to Slavonski Brod.

The Slavonski Brod medical team tried to reanimate the young man for 65 minutes but to no avail.

His death was declared on Saturday at 3:30 p.m..
