Certain actors work inside of Bosnia to destabilise it and America's presence there “puts them on notice” we will not let them do that, said US Congressman Scott Perry.
“I think American presence of some sort is important. I think it serves a couple of different purposes. As you know there are outside actors of other countries that are working inside of Bosnia to destabilise it for their own purposes,” Perry told Voice of America.
The Congressman did not specify who those actors are but that “you can imagine who they might be.”
The secondary effect of America's “greater and more robust presence,” Perry stressed, is to keep an eye on the leadership in Bosnia, because “we do have an investment, we have a stake there.”
According to the Congressman, the certain matters in the country “are out of bounds.”
“Corruption is unacceptable and intimidation is unacceptable. You are here to govern at the will of the people. Not to be kings and rulers over them but to be servants of them,” Perry said referring to Bosnian leaders.
