Two people were killed after falling from the construction site of a high-rise building in central Belgrade on Friday.
N1 was told by the police that the two men fell from the 22nd floor of one of the towers of the Belgrade Waterfront on the banks of the Sava river.
According to unofficial reports, a foreman and his assistant fell from a height of more than 50 metres while standing on wooden boards used to pour cement.
Emergency medical service crews said they were called out at 09:42 am but could only pronounce the two men dead at the site. The paramedics also provided medical assistance to eyewitnesses and other construction crew members suffering from shock.
The police closed off the area and Mayor Zoran Radojicic visited the scene of the accident.
