Chairman of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Council of Ministers Denis Zvizdic has arrived on Monday to Morocco for an official visit to that country. He was welcomed by Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Othmani.

Zvizdic thanked the Moroccan senior official for the political and humanitarian support that the Kingdom of Morocco provided for Bosnia, and he informed El Othmani about current economic and political developments in the country.

Speaking for N1, Zvizdic said bilateral and diplomatic relations between the two countries were very good.

“Morocco was among the first countries to recognize Bosnia and Herzegovina and to establish diplomatic relations. That was the country that always took the side of truth and gave support to the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he said.

“The relations are very good but we noticed that those relations are not followed by an adequate degree of communication and economic-trade exchange,” he added.

The officials agreed the economic cooperation between the two countries should improve and that connections between business communities have to come into focus.

Chairman Zvizdic said there is an interest on Bosnia’s part in a more intensive cooperation, especially in the sectors of industry, tourism, culture and cooperation. He stressed that the tourism sector achieved significant progress over the past three years, and he invited the citizens of Morocco to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnia’s official also emphasized the necessity to continue the activities towards the visa liberalisation between the two countries.

The officials also discussed an agreement on cooperation in the sector of air traffic and agreed that direct flights between Bosnia and Morocco would significantly improve a possibility of exchange of tourists and goods.

Informing Moroccan Prime Minister about the Euro-Atlantic integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zvizdic said these processes are taking the country towards economic prosperity.

During a meeting with Moroccan Parliament Speaker Habib El Malki, Zvizdic said it was necessary to enhance the economic cooperation and he announced he would present specific projects during a business forum taking place in Casablanca on Tuesday.
