Sarajevo is the capital of Bosnia, but also of the country’s Serb-dominated Republika Srpska (RS) entity. However, according to a recent study, only 21,7 per cent of the population in the RS know this.
The study was conducted by the ‘Prime Communications’ agency, and according to their results, most RS citizens, 56 per cent of them, believe the administrative centre of RS, Banja Luka, is the RS capital.
Another 13,9 per cent of those asked said their capital is Eastern Sarajevo, whih is territorially the eastern part of Sarajevo but officially a different town since it is located in the RS.
Prime Communications asked 1,000 RS citizens above the age of 18 what their capital is, and the study was conducted between September 1 and 10 this year.
