The Higher Court in Belgrade has confirmed an indictment against five people charged with war crimes against civilians in 1993.
The five former members of a unit of the Republika Srpska Army (VRS) have been charged with killing 20 civilians taken off a train in the town of Strpci on February 27, 1993. The train was travelling between Belgrade and the coastal city of Bar in Montenegro when the VRS troops boarded it at the Strpci station on a section of the rail line which is inside Bosnia-Herzegovina and removed the group of non-Serb civilians who were tortured and killed.
A court statement said that there is enough evidence to try the five men under the indictment which was filed by the Serbian War Crime Prosecution in March 2015.
