The US is committed to the election process and democracy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said US Ambassador to Bosnia, Maureen Cormack, adding that Embassy's observers have witnessed individual violations in the election process.
“It’s important that Bosnian citizens vote and that their voice is heard. They should vote for the leaders who focus on resolving their problems,” Cormack said. “The US Embassy has many observers across the country who are making sure that the election is fair and honest.”
The Ambassador noted that the Embassy received several reports saying that the election process was regular and without violations, but also some reports where the whole process was violated.
She reiterated the importance of citizens reporting their objections to the election process to competent institutions.
Bosnia’s general election is held on Sunday, October 7 and the election kicked off at 7 am. Election places will close at 7 pm and the first preliminary results should be known by 9 pm, according to the state election watchdog.
