Everyone who came here came to pay their respects to the killed policemen, Head of the Val Association, Bojan Zez-Filipovic, told N1 on the occasion of the gathering of some 500 Sarajevo residents who wanted to show support to the police and pay their respects to two policemen who were killed on duty.
Two police officers of the Sarajevo Canton Interior Ministry Adis Sehovic and Davor Vujinovic were shot iin the line of duty, last Friday, while working on a car theft case in Sarajevo’s Alipasino neighbourhood. Unknown perpetrator(s) had shot the police officers after being discovered.
“What was first an idea turned out to be a much-needed initiative. I'm sure everyone would agree that they do not want to live in a system and a society that is not ready to punish those who are willing to break the law,” said Zec-Filipovic, Head of the Association which initiated the gathering in Sarajevo.
He added that the Prosecution must work much more seriously and responsibly.
“It seems to me the Prosecution must work much more seriously and responsibly. If we know that a serious and efficient prosecution is a backbone of every country which wants to live in line with the rule of law, then we can say that this is not good enough.”
Zec-Filipovic added that those in charge of ensuring the safety of the people and the state must be provided all the conditions to perform their duty.
