The 100 percent import taxes Kosovo introduced for Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina last month is not directed against any citizen or any community, certainly not against the survival of the Serb community, according to Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
Haradinaj wrote on his Facebook profile that he was aware of the campaign against Kosovo’s sovereign decision treating the goods imported from Serbia and Bosnia, but that he was also resolute about protecting the rights of all citizens.
Kosovo Government introduced 100 percent import tax for the products from Serbia and Bosnia last month, which the authorities in these two countries assessed as a violation of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA).
“I’d like to point out that the 100 percent tariff was not directed against any citizen or any community, and in any case not against the survival of the Serb community. I am thankful to the Kosovo Customs for a public confirmation that all donations with the goods entering Kosovo as well as all other goods for individuals that enter in line with the customs and other laws in Kosovo,” Haradinaj wrote on his Facebook profile.
If the Kosovo government he heads is dismissed then Kosovo President Hashim Thaci should resign too as well as Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli, added Haradinaj.
“We go altogether, me and the Parliament Speaker and President of Kosovo, to free Kosovo,” Haradinaj was quoted as saying by gazetablic.com Kosovo news portal.
