Serbia Prosecution's indictments for war crimes against Serb civilians in Bosnia

Serbian Prosecution for war crimes filed three indictments for war crimes against Serb civilians, two of which relate to crimes in Sarajevo and Brcko (in Bosnia) and one is related to crimes in Kosovo.

According to Politika daily, a Bosnian citizen whose initials are H.M. was charged with crimes against Serbs in Sarajevo, in 1992, and another Bosnian citizen, initials M.C., was accused of war crimes against Serb civilians in Brcko, in 1992.

These charges must now be confirmed by the Court in Serbia.

The third indictment was filed against R.M. from Kosovo, and it relates to events from June 1999, in the village of Gornje Nerodmilje, Urosevac Municipality.

Crimes against humanity and other goods protected by international law, including the criminal offence of War Crimes against Civilians, are not subject to any statute of limitations.

Depending on the method of execution of this crime, defendants may be sentenced from six months to 40 years in prison.
