Six women mayors representing municipalities from both Bosnia's entities will meet this week to discuss the projects that are expected to boost the progress in their local communities.
For the first time the women mayors from Bosnia's two semi-autonomous entities, the Serb-dominated Republika Srpska and the Federation (FBiH) run by the Bosniaks and the Croats, will meet to talk about cooperation on joint projects.
The host of the meeting, which is financially supported by the Council of Europe, will be the Jezero Municipality, one of the participants.
The projects are intended to incite the progress in the local communities the women politicians are representing and to directly affect economic enhancement of their respective municipalities.
Representatives of government, the Council of Europe and several embassies in Bosnia will be invited to the meeting too, said a statement issued by the Jezero Municipality.
Mayors Snezana Ruzicic (Jezero), Divna Anicic (Mrkonjic Grad), Mileva Komlenovic (Kalinovik), Amra Babic (Visoko), Mila Petkovic (Novo Gorazde) and Milka Ivankovic (Istocni Drvar) will take part in the talks.
