Switzerland's Anja Weber and Norway's Moerk Martin Kirkeberg claimed the gold medals on Tuesday in the cross-country skiing, on the second day of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF).
Weber triumphed in the race at 5,000 metres with a time 14:51, followed by Alena Baranova of Russia and the third in the girls’ category, German Jelen Hoffman.
Boys competed on the 7,500 metres track with two Norway's athletes taking the first two places, Kirkeberg winning the gold and Edvard Sandvik the silver medal. The third was Sweden's Nufer Cla-Ursin.
The official medal award ceremony will take place in the Olympic village in Ilidza at 6:30 p.m.
EYOF officially kicked off Sunday evening with a spectacular ceremony held at the Olympic stadium Kosevo. A week-long event is hosted by two neighbouring cities, Sarajevo and Istocno Sarajevo (East Sarajevo).
