Thirteen people have been killed in a bus crash on the Tetovo-Skopje highway in the north of the country, FoNet news agency reported on Wednesday.

Another 25 people were taken to two hospitals in Skopje, having sustained injuries when the bus slid off the highway, North Macedonia's Health Minister, Venko Filipce, told the local media.

According to the reports, seven people were killed on the spot, and another six died later.

No citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina were reported among the injured passengers, Nebojsa Regoje of Bosnia's Foreign Affairs Ministry told Fena news agency.

Chargé d'affaires at Bosnia's Embassy in Skopje is maintaining contact with other embassies to coordinate activities and exchange information, said Regoje.

He also said that no citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina contacted the embassy in Skopje to ask for help. 

The victims of the accident included children, the North Macedonia's health minister said, adding that the driver survived the crash and would be questioned later, as well as tested for possible alcohol or substance abuse.
