With six gold, one silver and five bronze medals, Norwegians were the most successful athletes at the European Youth Olympic Festival held in Sarajevo and Istocno Sarajevo over the past week.
They are followed by Swedish athletes who won five gold and silver medals along with two bronze medals while the French took the third place with four gold, three silver and four bronze medals.
Among the first ten nations were also Austria (three gold, one silver and one bronze), Hungary (3, 0, 3), Russia (2, 7, 3), Slovakia (2, 2, 0), Poland (2, 1, 2), Germany (2, 1, 1) and Italy (1, 3, 1).
EYOF 2019 will closed on Friday evening at a ceremony in Istocno Sarajevo that will be attended by, among others, the three members of Bosnia’s Presidency.
