The Chairman of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency will meet with Pope Francis next Friday at the Vatican but war victims associations sent a warning to the head of the Catholic Church saying someone who is “glorifying war criminals” is coming to visit him.
Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik has frequently expressed solidarity with Serbs convicted by the UN and Bosnian courts for war crimes committed during the country’s 1992-95 war.
After his cabinet announced the visit, 12 victims associations in Bosnia wrote to the Apostolic Nuncio in Bosnia, Msn. Luigi Pezzuto, asking him to inform the Pope that Dodik is a genocide denier and that he glorifies the perpetrators.
