Davorin Popovic gets mural in his hometown

KJKP PARK

Davorin Popovic, Sarajevo-born music icon of the last century, will get a mural in his home city within the Pop Art Festival and the Days of Sarajevo Canton.

The mural dedicated to legendary band Indexi and their frontman will stay on the wall of a building in the central part of Sarajevo for the next seven years.

The singer's fame remained in the years after his death. Bosnian music award was initially named Davorin, after the renowned singer, and later renamed into Indexi. Since Daco, which was one of his nicknames, was a successful basketball player in his youth, a Sarajevo tournament in this sport was also named after him.

Davorin was laid to rest in the Alley of the Great, a cemetery for exceptional Sarajevo citizens.
