Bosnia's Orthodox Archbishop, Hrizostom said in the Easter reception he hosted on Monday that only harmonious societies have a way to the future and that celebrating the feasts like this is a chance for rapprochement.

“A great feast of Easter brings along great and universal messages which we can define as the good winning against the evil, the life winning against the death, love against hatred, brightness against the darkness. Universal messages are sent to every person and all peoples, they're not selectively Christian,” said Hrizostom addressing his guests.

“In the society like ours, celebrating the feast of Easter as well as other feasts has great importance. That's a chance for our mutual rapprochement. We regret to say that we either don't know each other enough or we don't know each other at all. Those are consequences of our prejudices,” he added.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of other religious communities in Bosnia, diplomatic corps members and local authorities.

“We believe in the harmony of our diversities. Only harmonious societies have a way to the future. Let's all together put more efforts to create a functional and harmonious society,” said the Orthodox Church leader in Bosnia, in his Easter reception speech.
