Bosnia's prime minister Denis Zvizdic arrived in Bucharest, on Thursday, and met with Romanian Prime Minister Victoria Dancila, saying that political relations between the two countries are good and without open issues.

Zvizdic thanked Romania for maintaining the focus of the EU on expansion, during its presidency of the Union. As areas where there is room for improvement of cooperation, Zvizdic named agriculture, energy and car, IT, tourism and protection of wildlife.

Romanian Prime Minister Dancila noted Romania's strong support to Bosnia's Euro-Atlantic integration process and her country's readiness to provide Bosnia with full political and technical assistance in speeding up its EU accession process.

She added that Romania wants to improve and strengthen its cooperation with Bosnia, primarily through linking the two country's trade chambers and entrepreneurs. The eastern Balkans is part of Europe, and Romania supports Bosnia in getting the EU candidate status and the only guarantee of lasting peace, stability and economic prosperity of the entire region, is membership in the EU and NATO.

Zvizdic informed his colleague of the current political situation in Bosnia, stressing that EU and NATO are Bosnia's primary motivators for conducting the necessary reforms and developing its economy.

He noted that EU's dedication to the region and preserving the focus on expansion and focusing on positive processes is the only guarantee for the lasting stabilisation of the region.

The Prime Minister thanked Romania for its support to Bosnia's Euro-Atlantic integrations and confirmed Bosnia's support to Romania's election as the non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 period.
