At least for one day, the king and his knights took over the Kastel Fortress in Banja Luka on Saturday as part of the second international festival Kastrum, organised by the “Guardians of the St. George’s Speer” knight order.
Knights from Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia, the Chezch Republic, Slovakia and Austria, along with their maidens, arrived at the walls of the medieval fortress to compete in archery, fencing, medieval knights tournaments and watch with other visitors artists juggling, dancing with fire as well as an exhibition of medieval clothing, jewelry, tools and weapons.
The festival started with a symbolic wedding of King Dragutin, played by actor Dusko Mazalica, to Hungarian princess Katarina.
