Mortal remains of twelve victims of the 1992-95 war were dug out of a mass grave on Igman Mountain, southwest of Sarajevo, which marked the end of exhumation on the Lokvice-Golo Brdo site, Bosnia's State Prosecutor's Office said on Monday.

The remains are believed to be those of Bosniak victims from Donji Hadzici village who went missing in summer 1992.

The mass grave was discovered last week after a thorough search carried out within a case at Bosnia's Prosecutor's Office. The search was conducted in a joint operation of the Missing Persons Institute, and the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) is providing technical assistance at the excavation.

The mortal remains will undergo a forensic analysis and ICMP will DNA test and match biological samples to help identify the victims.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, a search for a new mass grave on the same location will start in the following days.

It is believed that mortal remains of at least five more victims, three of which are women, might be hidden at a nearby location.
