Slovenian authorities informed competent institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday that extradition of Bosnian national Ramo Brkic, who was detained on Interpol's notice in May this year, is ready to be extradited.

Bosnian Justice Ministry tasked the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies and the Border Police to take measures towards Brkic's extradition from Slovenia to Bosnia.

“Bosnia's Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies – Interpol's National Central Bureau (NCB) Sarajevo is arranging technical details regarding the takeover of the sought person and competent officers of Bosnia's Border Police will take over and transport the sought person to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Once the extradition is finalised, Bosnia's Ministry of Justice will inform the Interpol's NCB Sarajevo about that,” said the ministry.

Interpol notified Bosnia in late May that Slovenia detained former police commissioner of Bosnia's northwestern Una-Sana Canton, who was earlier sentenced to 11 years in prison for organised crime in Bosnia.

He fled the country on February 27, 2016.
