We have an obligation to fill the empty positions in the Police force of Bosnia's Federation (FBiH) entity, equipping them and increasing their capacity, FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalic and Interior Minister Aljosa Campara said at the FBiH Police Day ceremony, on Monday.
“Our task is to equip them and fill the empty positions in the police force so that they can adequately respond to all the security challenges they face,” Novalic said at the Sarajevo sport centre “Safet Zajko,” adding that today's police march proves the FBiH residents can count on these police officers to protect them and respond to every security challenge.
Campara noted that the FBiH Interior Ministry will persist in is demands that new police officers be employed, and it will support the amendments regarding material and technical resources and more effective policing.
“We have the opportunity to see the strength and power of FBiH police structures. It is our obligation to make their everyday work easier by improving the legal framework,” Campara said.
Deputy Director of the FBiH Police Administration, Ensad Korman, said that the FBiH Police is currently missing 30 percent of police officers and that amendments to the Rulebook on the Internal Organization of the FBiH Interior Ministry were made to allow the admission to employ an additional 110 police officers.
