The people of Finland are the happiest in the world, according to the World Happiness Report 2019, a survey of the state of happiness that ranks 156 nations on how happy they are. Bosnia takes the 78th place on the list.

Of all countries in the region, only North Macedonia is ranked worse than Bosnia, taking the 84th place, while Slovenia (44th), Kosovo (46th), Serbia (70th), Montenegro (73rd) and Croatia (75th) are ahead.

This year’s World Happiness Report focuses on happiness and the community: how happiness has evolved over the past dozen years, with a focus on the technologies, social norms, conflicts and government policies that have driven those changes.

Among the top five happiest countries are Finland, Denmark, Norway, Island and The Netherlands. The least happy nations are those in South Sudan, South African Republic, Tanzania and Afghanistan.
