Head coach of Bosnian football national team Robert Prosinecki resigned on Sunday immediately after the defeat in EURO 2020 qualifier game against Armenian team.
Addressing a press conference following the match in Yerevan, Prosinecki said he planned to take the team to the EURO 2020 when he took the position.
“We didn’t manage to do that, so I’m resigning and giving a chance to someone else,” he said.
“I failed in motivating the team, I thought we would compete in EURO. Even now I believe in that, the quality exists. I think we’re a great team but apparently something was wrong because I couldn’t motivate and prepare the team enough,” said Prosinecki.
Bosnia lost 4-2 to Armenia and practically stands no chance to go to EURO 2020 through these qualifications. As now ex-coach said, their only chance is to make their way through UEFA Nations League.
