Bosnia's Journalist Association condemned, on Monday, the attack on N1's Adi Bebanic which took place during the protest against Bosnia's first Pride event in Sarajevo.

“Although the Sunday Pride Parade, and rallies against it, were generally without an incident, demonstrating that it is possible to discuss sensitive topics in Bosnia with a high degree of tolerance and willingness to accept those who are different, it is regretful that these events could not have gone without an attack against a media representative,” the Association of Bosnian Journalists wrote in their statement.

During the protest rally against the Sarajevo Pride, N1's reporter Adi Bebanic was attacked while reporting from the scene. An unknown person approached Bebanic and physically attacked him, saying he was dissatisfied with his reporting.

“We expect the attacker to be prosecuted and once again we urge the public to respect media representatives. We reiterate that freedom of expression and media freedoms are the basic foundations of democracy, without which a normal debate on any topic is inconceivable,” the statement said.

N1 television asks the authorities to process and punish the attacker as soon as possible.
