State police have arrested Tadija Mitrovic in the northeastern area of Bratunac on Tuesday for alleged war crimes committed against Bosniaks in 1992, the state Prosecutor’s Office said.

Mitrovic was a member of the Bosnian Serb army during the war, and war crimes prosecutors accuse him of committing crimes against humanity during the ethnic cleansing operation against Bosniaks in Glogovi on May 18, 1992.

Mitrovic is now to be questioned by prosecutors, who will then decide on whether to place him in pretrial detention.
