The Hunting Association of Bosnia's Republika Srpska entity has almost 25,000 members and represents one of the biggest associations of this kind in this Serb-dominated entity.

According th the Association secretary Zivojin Lazic, every year they get between 900 and 1,000 new members.

Despite being able to finance itself from membership fees, the association is financed from the RS budget by decision of the government of this entity.

“Based on the reimbursement that this association gives for game hunting, the Hunting Association receives up to one million Bosnian marks each year, which it invests in associations's facilities,” said Lazic in Sopotnik near Zvornik, at a meeting of Alumina company employees who are also members of the Associations.

Alumina management member Stevo Savic noted that the Republika Srpska Hunting Association supports the project of getting youths to join the Association, as it distracts them from cafes while actively involving them in nature and wildlife conservation.
