European Parliament's Legal Affairs Committee (JURI) rejected the nomination of Hungarian diplomat, Laszlo Trocsanyi, for the post of the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, foreign media carried on Thursday.
Trocsanyi did not pass the vote at the EP's committee, whose members decided that there was no enough clarity on his potential conflict of interests and discrepancies in property statements, ‘European Western Balkans’ reported quoting EUobserver.
It is now down to President Ursula von der Leyen if she wants the same country to nominate a new candidate, according to ‘European Western Balkans’.
The committee also rejected the nomination of Romanian candidate Rovana Plumb.
