Research shows 25 percent of Serbia’s population believe Russia is the greatest donor to their country, though it is not among the ten most significant contributors, the FoNet news agency reported, while the European Union tops the list of the biggest donors according to its office in Belgrade.
The vast majority of 87 percent of the surveyed consider Russia Serbia’s friend.
They believe the relations between Belgrade and Moscow are excellent or very good, the Institute for European Affairs’ study shows, with only two percent of those who did not see Russia as a friend, while 11 percent did not have an opinion.
However, the number of those who do consider Moscow a friend decreases with a higher education level of the people covered by the study.
The research, in cooperation with Ninamedia, was conducted from March 8-17 and included 1,2006 people.
An average assessment of the relations with Russia was 4.14, mostly according to women, those above 60 years of age, those with primary or secondary school education and the central Serbia population.
The 21.4 percent get information about Serbia – Russia relations on TVs, 17 percent from newspapers while 9.5 percent say they use the social networks.
Only 10 percent of the population have been to Russia, mostly men, highly educated people and the residents of the Belgrade region.
