The Mostar Comic Book Weekend and the Ninth Dimension Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, and will offer visitors the works of 18 international comic artists, six of which are from Italy.
Comics, such as the Italian horror series ‘Dylan Dog’, are very popular in Bosnia and Herzegovina for generations.
One of the most renowned authors in the world, Giancarlo Marzano, will also attend the event in Mostar. He hinted that a future Dylan Dog story might be set in Bosnia.
“This is the first time I have ever come to the Balkans. I am very happy about it and I hope this experience will serve me as inspiration for writing a new story about Dylan Dog which takes place here,” he said.
Events such as the Mostar Comic Book Weekend represent a great opportunity, Bosnian authors said.
“There is not one child in Bosnia which did not read comics, and as we grow up and out of them, we start perceiving them as something only for children, which is not accurate as comics also have an adult audience,” said Bosnian comic book author Filip Andronik.
